A man and a woman have taken refuge in an old schoolhouse on a bleak hillside with a brutal man adapted to the needs of survival. The other man is inept at dealing with such conditions and barely tolerated by their new host who is at odds over the value of the woman to their survival, particularly as her strange shamanistic ways unsettle and threaten him. With no moral boundaries remaining he will kill if necessary. Her companion makes a stand in her defense. He’s entering a contest he is physically no match for. To prevail he will need his wits and the driving force of his own vendetta.
